Ms. Welcome is the President/Clinical Director, She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Board Certified Telehealth provider, and Approved Clinical Supervisor for newly licensed associate counselors, . Ms. Welcome is trained in using the Enneagram. She provides counseling, spiritual mentoring and education to adults, couples, and facilitate groups, as well as provide on online counseling and spiritual mentoring.
Venita Welcome is trained as a spiritual life coach. She received training from American Association of Christian Counselors in 2004. She is in her final year training as a Spiritual Director from Moody Bible College.
Venita's mission is to facilitate spiritual healing based on people's Christian faith.
Mr. Powell is a Pastoral Counselor. He integrates both individuals faith, spirituality and theology and supports wholeness, healing and growth.
Mr. Powell is trained as a pastor and is a instructor at a Christian college. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to helping individuals and works with men and couples.
Ms. Hardy is a Licensed Associate Counselor. She works with adolescents and families using a person centered approach and also incorporates CBT and solution focused techniques to meet the client’s specific needs.
Ms. Hardy works with adolescents and families from a systems perspective to help them tackle the presenting problem and build communication, problem solving and coping skills for the future.
Ms. Hardy specializes in anxiety, depression, low self-esteem/self-worth, family conflict and career readiness.
Ms. O'Connor-Johnson graduated from Nyack College Alliance Graduate School of Counseling. She is a Licensed Associate Counselor and enjoys working with adults, families and couples.
Ms. O'Connor-Johnson has an extensive background in healthcare as a Registered Nurse. She is dedicated in helping clients to move from brokenness to wellbeing using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Christian Integrative Treatment.
Her warm approach helps clients with issues such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, and interpersonal/relational concerns.
Roy attends Nyack University and will graduate in 2020. He is fluent in English and Korean (Fluent). He has experience working with mental health and addictions. He also the worship pastor at his church. One of Roy's goal is to bring healing to those in the body of Christ.
Shenequa is in her last semester at Liberty University with a focus on Marriage and Family. She currently volunteers at Focus on the Family providing hope and encouragement to those who are dealing with depression and anxiety.
Mrs.. Cherifils is an Addiction Life Coach. She speaks to individuals and families effected by substance use. She provides education, guidance and motivation to help individuals reach their goals.
Mrs.. Cherfilis has 24 years of recovery from substance use. She practices the 12 Steps and 12 traditions of Narcotics Anonymous. She has specialized knowledge on how to help an individual in recovery avoid common pitfalls. This connection can help the individual to set goals, reach goals, and move forward in recovery.
Mrs. Cherifils facilitates a small group for friends and family members of loved one effected by drugs and alcohol.
Ms. Smart is an intake specialist . Ms. Smart speak directly with clients and their families, determining their needs, medical history, physical and mental state and determining if the clients has any special requirements.
Ms. Smart is a Certified Life Coach. Ms. Smart help clients make progress in all areas of their lives; relationships, health, career, life balance, spirituality, finances. She is able to coach young adults and college students through life transition to help them
discover their life purpose, find meaning and fulfillment in life, and support them as they change or enhance their career.
(NOT ACCEPTING CLIENTS). Ms. Jean-Pierre is a NJ Licensed Professional Counselor. She came to CWCNJ with a wealth of experience in working with a college to provide individual therapy as well as working at a non-profit providing individual, couple and family counseling.
Ms. Jean-Pierre provides online counseling. She facilitates topic-focused workshops and groups.
Ms. Baker graduated with a business administration degree. She has worked with Christian Wellness Center for ten years. Ms Baker is in charge of the front office which includes scheduling appointments for intakes and counselors, billing insurances and general correspondence.
Ms. Baker is warm, professional and is always willing to help clients as necessary to gain a sense of peace before counseling appointments.
Ms. Smart wears many hats at Christian Wellness Center. On the administrative side she is the Chief Operating Officer in charge of all of the operations of the organization. Ms. Smart main goal is to oversee the vision of Christian Wellness Center.
Ms. Winfrey was with Christian Wellness Center of NJ from the beginning of its establishment. She was instrumental in helping formulate the vision, offered encouragement, and her expertise in helping clients. Ms. Winfrey would often see clients at nominal or no fees because she often stated "everyone should have access to Christian counseling if they wanted it."
Ms. Winfrey fought the fight with cancer for five years . She passed away on December 15, 2019. On her behalf Christian Wellness Center of NJ started a counseling fund in honor of her dedicated service. She will be missed.
We are now accepting interns from Christian counseling colleges/universities only.
Interns are closely supervised by senior CWCNJ therapists. They meet with supervisors for several hours each week to discuss their work and to review recordings of their sessions. CWCNJ believes clients receive the best treatment for. Their interns when their sessions are recorded and viewed in supervision. Interns discuss this option with all their clients, who can opt out if they choose. Recordings are treated with the utmost care, protected as required by the law, and deleted following g review in supervision.
